MiraDry Treatment

During treatment, your underarm area will first be numbed to ensure your comfort. The MiraDry handpiece will then be placed directly onto the skin. Treatment is kept comfortable using controlled cooling technology. The entire treatment process usually takes about one hour to complete.

How painful is miraDry?

miraDry is performed using a local anesthetic, so there’s little to no discomfort involved.

What should I do before miraDry?

We recommend that patients shave their armpits 4 or 5 days before the appointment and then let the hair grow until the scheduled procedure. This minimizes any minor cuts in the underarms.

Can you exercise after miraDry?

Can Miradry be used on groin?

No. This treatment method was specially developed for treating underarm sweating.

Does miraDry work immediately?

Most patients begin to notice an improvement in excessive sweating within one week of treatment.

Will insurance cover miraDry?

Insurance doesn’t typically cover miraDry treatments. However, you may be able to use your HSA or FSA funds to pay for treatment.

Is miraDry permanent?

miraDry damages the sweat glands of the underarms, meaning results are permanent. It can achieve around 80% reduction in sweat activity with just one treatment.

How long after miraDry can I work out?

After treatment, you should avoid any extensive activity that might affect the underarms. Plan on taking a few days away from your workout regimen to give your body time to adjust.

Does miraDry help with odor?

Can you drink alcohol after miraDry?

The results are permanent because the sweat glands that are eliminated do not regenerate.
